About Our Restaurant

Welcome to Bro's Cajun Cuisine! As a native of Lafayette, Louisiana. I am proud to prepare and serve you the home-cooked food of my heritage. This tradition of Cajun and Creole cooking has been handed down through my family for generations. As we say back home, I hope you enjoy your meal and pass a good time!

We have been in business in Nashville at a number of locations. At different times over the past 18 years we have been on Murphry Road, Centennial Boulevard, Nolensville Pike and now finally on Charlotte Ave. Before Nashville, Bro's Cajun Cuisine spent its first 13 years in Lafayette Louisiana. That's 30 years in business making jambalaya, boudin, and frying turkeys.

With Linda, my wife, and my three boys, Bro's has been a hands-on family business in the classic American idea of building something we love. The restaurant has three different dining rooms which will seat a total 70+ people plus a little deck to seat 25 in good weather. There is an open air kitchen in the main dining room. A large catering kitchen downstairs and a retail over the counter to-go shop up in front of the building. Out back sits our two 300 gallon deep fat fryers for frying turkeys (we can fry about 60 turkeys per hour). Also we have the smokers, the big boy which can smoke 70 or so hams at once, and the trailer smoker on wheels for barbeque, crawfish boils and catered parties.

Look around the website to get a flavor of our hospitality, or better yet, come on over and pass a good time.

Chef Proprietor Darrell Breaux

I am Darrell M. Breaux, origionally of Lafayette La., now a permanently transplanted Cajun living in Nashville. My birth and growing-up home is the hub of Acadiana, capital of Cajun Country, and the heart of the unique French-Acadian culture. With a population of approximately 175,000, Lafayette is located in Lafayette Parish on Interstate 10, about 130 miles northwest of New Orleans and 35 miles north of the Gulf of Mexico.

I spent 4 years in the Navy supervising 5 galleys then supervised the Lafayette Correctional Center Commissary.

I opened Bro's Lafayette and ran my 55 seat restaurant for 13 years specializing in Cajun Cuisine and Private Catering functions.

In 1988, my family and I moved to Nashville and opened Bro's Cajun Cuisine over on Murphey Rd. Like my Acadian heritage, we migrated around Nashville locations until I could buy the current location on Charlotte Ave. Since we own the building now, I think we will stay put for awhile.

I love fishing and boating and football, and find myself involved with a number of professional and social fraternal organizations. I am a 32nd degree Free Mason, a Shriner, Member of the Kansas City Bar-B-Que Society, member of the American Culinary Federation, and the Middle Tennessee Chapter of the Chefs Association.

My pride and joy is my family, Linda my wife of 32 years; and my three boys; Chad, Jerrod, and Mark.

Laissez les bons temps roulet!
